When anyone was sickened by the virus they would immediately update the Families and their plans to insure their loved ones would be kept safe. They followed all of the rules and regulations. During Covid, the staff has worked extremely hard at keeping their residents healthy and safe. My Mom has been living there for a number of years in the assisted living. I would like to start out by thanking all of the staff at the Residence at Five Corners. I haven't tried the food, but it looks good. The schedule was originally set up for half-hour visits, but now it's not limited as far as time goes. Since COVID has been decreasing, they're now open to visitations, and they're fairly unlimited, but you have to call ahead and schedule it. They have at least three areas where they can do things, and they have an outdoor patio, which is nice. They have an activity area, a larger TV room for movie-night type stuff, and a separate room for some of the activities they do that is different than the other two. They had birdhouse building, that type of thing, and painting. My father has worked on building stuff with his hands, which he likes to do. The staff members are very nice, and they seem to be very involved with his care. There are two separate rooms within the same apartment, and there's a kitchen area, as well as a bathroom that two people share. The place is nice, rather new, and kind of spacious compared to some of the other places. My father has moved into The Residence at Five Corners. In the words of my 93 year old Mom, “I was sitting at home waiting to die, now I am living life again.I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident On site medical care is an option, care provided by Dr Becker - she is fabulous! Mom has made new friends and is living a full and joyful life. The Wellness Office and direct care staff are incredible. A friendly receptionist greets us whenever we visit. Communication with the staff is great, questions are promptly answered. The menu and dining is wonderful, activities are varied and numerous - there is something for everyone, the facility is beyond clean and the grounds are very well kept. The transition process was smooth with a well organized, thorough book with all information and forms needed to facilitate the move. Lucy in Sales and Marketing answered all our questions, right up to move in day questions. The atmosphere is one of caring and compassion. As a Registered Nurse I have very high standards for care and The Residence has exceeded my expectations. My Mom has been living at The Residence at South Windsor Farms since March of 2021 and we are thrilled with her new home. Among the others we visited, they were the only ones that welcomed us. The staff members seemed to be very open and concerned about your issues. They made cookies, and they were wrapping them up. I did see residents upstairs in the community room. In terms of activities, it was late in the day, and I think they were getting ready for dinner time. However, the grounds were not that great. They're willing to cook whatever you wanted and very conscious about allergies and that sort of thing. The common dining area was nicely spaced. The rooms were very open, light, bright, and very easy to access, too, if you were handicapped. They're very helpful in making the room work for you no matter what. She wanted to work with us to try to help my sister-in-law. The person who does the tour was lovely and very understanding. We toured The Residence at South Windsor Farms for my sister-in-law.
